Green
Sanctuary Program
The UUSD Green
Sanctuary Committee will launch this program early next year.
Becoming a certified Green Sanctuary is a step-by-step process that
usually takes about two years. The kick-off will begin with engaging
the congregation, in a format still to be determined by the newly formed
committee, to become informed, excited, and committed to the process and
the program.
The Green
Sanctuary program has several goals including:
-
To build
awareness of societal environmental issues among UUs;
-
To generate
commitment for personal lifestyle changes;
-
To motivate
UUs to community action on environmental issues;
-
To build a
connection between spiritual practice and environmental consciousness;
and
-
To build
awareness of and rectify environmental justice.
Please see the Social
Justice page for more information.
Cape
Henlopen Food Basket
Supplies
are very low and the food basket is requesting the following items:
ketchup, mustard, mayonnaise, hamburger helper, baby food (jars and
cereal), small boxes of cereal, pasta, spaghetti sauce. Let's help
them to restock their shelves.
Please
remember our food bank collection is an on-going project. We need the
following four items continually: canned salmon, canned tuna, canned diced
tomatoes and peanut butter. Thanks for all your help.
UUSD
Cookbook
Do
you love to cook? Have a recipe people are always raving
about? We will be creating a UUSD Cookbook! Look for
information soon on how to include your recipes! Anyone interested in
helping with the organization and being part of the Cookbook's success
please sign up on the fundraising table in the church.
Bulletin Board
We
have a bulletin board in the foyer for upcoming events. In
order not have this board "cluttered", we are asking anyone who has
information to display to have it initialed by Rev. Mike or Jean Charles.
You
should be able to check this board for information on all events at UUSD and/or
local events of interest to our church community.
UUSD
Tee Shirts
UUSD tee shirts are for sale for $12 each.
Contact Anne Pikolas for
more information.
